The company's seasoned executive team understands the criticality of execution when it comes to the development and commercialization of recombinant DNA-produced protein therapeutics. Itero's experience is deep in process development, manufacturing, clinical development and commercialization. The company is seeking to in-license niche biotech products for its own development and is also interested in collaborating with a partner that has more assets than available resources. Existing Partnerships
Watson Pharmaceuticals
In July 2010, Itero signed a global development, manufacturing and commercialization agreement with Watson Pharmaceuticals, Inc. relating to Itero's first product, recombinant follicle stimulating hormone (rFSH). Under the terms of this agreement, Watson has paid Itero an undisclosed licensing fee and will make other payments based on the achievement of certain development and regulatory milestones. Watson will also assume responsibility for all future manufacturing, development and commercial expenses. Upon successful commercialization, Watson will pay Itero royalties based on sales-tiered percentages of net sales or profit share payments in various regions of the world. Watson has a strategic focus on women's health and a growing presence in the infertility market.
With the signing of the Watson agreement for rFSH, the manufacturing process for the product was transferred to Eden Biodesign, Watson's biological development division based in Liverpool, England.
