Itero Biopharmaceuticals, LLC derived its name from the Latin word "itero", which means "to repeat, to say or do again, to reiterate or renew." We selected that name not only to describe who we are, but also to indicate the direction and strategic intent of the company. Itero was founded by a team of former Genentech, Inc. and Scios, Inc. executives with considerable experience in therapeutic protein manufacturing, clinical and commercial development. So we've done this before. We've developed and commercialized scores of biotech products across many therapeutic areas. We know that the most gratifying products to work on are those that truly enhance the patient's life or their experience with the product. And we know that an unwavering focus on the quality and safety of our products is what our customers, patients, and investors expect. Our intent is to develop and commercialize improved versions of products that have been previously commercialized, thus lowering the risk profile of our business plan. We are developing highly selected biosimilar or follow-on protein products which we believe we can meaningfully differentiate to physicians and patients, and second generation therapeutic proteins, or "biobetters", which have the potential to demonstrate improved safety, efficacy or other patient benefits.
